Somehow always come back to a still life. It is my comfort food.I love flowers and gardening and find them uplifting to create and look at. This piece certainly cheers me up with it's old style elegance. It is an intricate pieced with layers of textiles and paint. I decided to keep the background white so that the foreground almost felt like a silouette. The colours are also understated. The whole piece speaks of restrained pleasure.
